Mission:
Yet Another Walkabout, check countryside after the Necro-Druids Failure

Report:
(Report is a wandering blend of galean, Goblinish, Kalinesh, and Childer written upside downs and backwards)

New recruits escorting us on yet another walkabout. Ether seems clear of threads and such, but Valkeel notes a very minor remnant which is retreating north.

Headed to Darrow Inn, small homestead and farm that acts as an inn and waystation.

Callihan Darrow is owner, wife Cecilia is inn mistress. ALso have Bathhouse Mistress to arange Baths. Carl is Blacksmith.

Gave gift of finely tailored garments to replace the muddy and torn covering Artivan was wearing. Seemed thankful.

Also in Residence at inn is a Malikarian Trader named Antony. Transports “Unique Goods”. Think that means smuggler.

Another group in residence, group of five from the south, possibly wildlanders.

Group splits up on arival. Artivan really needed a bath, so off to the bathhouse. Dorin sets up with a cigar in the courtyard, gront to the blacksmith, Valkeel goes to examine the horses of the visitor, Crabius also sets up in teh courtyard and Luna hangs out in the main room.

Staff seems very protective of well, do everything to steer people away from it. More time passes, stranger all of them acting.

Something involving The Way seems to be interfeering with perception. It seems that all Magical perception is dampened, not even noticing each other’s aura.

A mass of blood and muscle and goo errupts from the well, forming into a 12 foot tall critter that exudes black blood tendrals. The tendrals grab Crabius and Gront, pinning them.

Seven men dressed as from the Malikar empire come boiling out of the inn, knocking Antony aside and Calihan down.

Celestial chorus, lights and shit from inside the bathhouse.

Valkeel blasts the critter with a jet, and part of the building

The critter reacted poorly to be struck by Luna’s Arrow.

Crabius knocks the critter prone by burrowing and dragging it down

Strange lady walks out of the ruined building and gets into gronts mind, forcing him to attack Valkeel, though he breaks free at the last moment and redirects to the critter on the ground.

Luna manages to level the critter with an arrow with assistance from Valkeel and his stick.

darkness boils out of the building, a necromantic obscure field. Seems to have been a Vampire. and is carrying some kind of strange boom stick.

Aparently the purpose of the boomstick is to blow up in the wielders hand, knocking them backwards and doing horrible damage to the wielder. Not sure why anyone would want to own one of these. Not on Christmas list.

Woman tries to control Gront’s mind again, but Gront angry now. Pin the woman against the wall and freeze her in place with ice around neck,. then blasts one of the other casters, getting rid of the darkness.

Suddenly swarm of bats fills the inn, but doesnt attack anyone. Must have been their time for migration.

Luna staples the vampire to the wall, exploding in a wash of blood.

Bringing the prisoner to you.

Vampire was aparently brought thru by one of the rituals and was being escorted back to the dominion.

Magic was being cloaked by a mystic Cloak Stone in the well, which we will be bringing to you.

Note to command, per Artivan, HEALERS ARE NOT OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT!!!!

Notes on mission

Gibbon thinks they have figurted out the malikar notes and reports. Has found map of general region. 2 days to north seems to be Necromancer gathering. Part of their ritual seems to be the sacrifice of “Noble Souls” in this case the 3 druids. Not sure what is so noble about Druids. Guys love the forest so much they wont even tear off a leaf to wipe their own asses.

Note: New Holy Guy know how to stitch up wound, but no magic healer.

able to get back to Oakton, explain Black Ooze

Some of party has bad dreams of black ooze.

Arti send Leeroh, thufa, and Gurial ahead to scout. Find group with two twisted bears, 2 Necrodruids, 2 puppet semi-necro-druids, bunch of skeletons. Necrodruids casting ritual to summon pool of black goo.

Arti blesses Guriel, Sir, Art, Gront.

Arti rushs in and kills bunch of skeletons with light.

Two of the four necrodruids seem puppet like. After Art blasts everyone with light, other two druids slash and kill puppets. Blood pools with black ooze. Ooze exploodes and giant trees start uprooting and moving into clearing with additional bears. Center of clearing filled with frayed magic yarn ball. Luckily Guriel did not see that part, only visual to magic people.

Additional 2 necrodruid on edge of clearing.

Holy man runs in and makes speach. Something about Holy People makes them loud and windy. Remind Gront to never become Holy, he Windy enough as it is.

Fight starts.

Bears aparently easy to hit, hard to damage with stuff other than Bright Light and Loud Words.

Guriel and Leeroh charge to the right to take on bear and necrodruid

Gront annoys two of the Necrodruids with iceballs.

Walking House smashs down one of the bears while Arti makes bright light and noise to flatten most of the skelitons and another bear.

Necrodruids summon two really disgusting six foot tall leaches with toothy sphincter mouths. Silly design, kinda gross. Necros also summon two warped earth golumns after Arti taunts them. Need to put cork in him.

Loud other human makes another speach and steps into center of things.

Leachmen move wierd, not actually touching the ground when the move.

Gront levels two more of the necrodruids.

Arti keeps shouting and glowing. This seems to confuse the trees and leach men. Big Ogre then smashs flat one of the rocks. Gronts ice bolts seems to freeze the leach men, causing one to congeel and shatter.

Guriel Climbs into one of the tree monsters to aparently go after whatever was making it move. Need to ask her about that later.

Knight lifts his blade and babbles something about a dragon. With a bright glow he smites one of the tree beasts. There is no splatter of goo, the corruption was just gone. We need to learn this trick. With less words.

Rinka leaps into one of the trees and manages to bring it down with a well placed blow. Rename him Treeslayer.

Arti tries to offer up his life to allow the Horned horsie to clense the area. The Knight steps in and takes the energy from the offering on his sword as Gront offers his own energy to help the clensing. The results is a burst of energy seeming to revive many of the dead life spirits, levels the remaining trtee spirit and returning the rock golumn to a statue.

The Knight seems driven into a deep sleep of total peace, and snowflakes drift down around the clearing. Not sure what caused that. Arti seems to think it’s my fault, but thats obviously not possible. Gront not have that kind of power.

You tell anyone otherwise and I wont put out your next accident in the lab.

Mission:
Being sent to look into the siege and fall of Oakton, reclaim if possible, rescue mission.

Report:

We being sent to look into the Fall of Oakton. Free as many villagers as possible, run out malikar, rumor they may know where were Necro-mangers are holed up.

Now know that Dark Druids have been sent from the north Malikar Empire to corrupt life Magic.

Started with you screaming at everyone to get people lined up. Consider a speaking/hearing trumpet?

Artisomething, loud priest, gives report about Darkness and Flame creatures to new recruits. Seem to be being attacked by servants of the Bloodqueen who are corrupted creatures from Outside somewhere.

Kalinar, Shinar, Malikar, and Blood Witch all likely involved.

Veil seems to be weakening, which is allowing Others to come into our world. Group has now met a Vampire of another world who had access to Arcfire technology

Leachmen are another example of invaders, transformed by Floaters. Leach-like body 6-8 feet tall with asshole ringed by teeth designed for eating. Bad design flaw, leach should have teeth at other end. No need to chew food as you crap it out. More wierdness from the Outside.

Corruption is now beginning to trap and transform life spirits, creating Clay-like Golumn. Tough and resistant to physical damage AND magic.

Reports of 3 missing druids from local circle. 2nd task to find and bring back Druids.

Oakton Palisade. North is Damaged, south has fewer defenders. Using villagers as slave labor. Reports of Gargoyles. Expect to see Minotaur and Rat-kins.

Prisoner gives info that Malikar Deminion is in competition with Shionar and others. Looks like all the bad forces not working together, but compeeting.

Artisomething takes charge (Thank you.) Avi and Guriel, Luna, Rinka, Magdala and Marit sent to scout east side to work way inside, find get out villagers. Grab someone important.

Everyone else will be distraction. Arti walk in front gate. Gront smashing open a hole in the wall with closest forest cover for surprise assault. Appologies to the owners of those houses. They got in the way.

Arti expecting to die, and wants us to abandon him if this happens. Explained that not an options. He not happy about this, but agrees grumpily. If Arti falls, that put Gront back in charge, and nobody want that.

Gibbon gave healing potions to Gront, Gilreth, Luna, and Arti.

Finally head north to Oakton. Several hours north we already see sign of decay
Take rest stop on way north. Many people doze off and have dreams of blood red/black ooze and strange face in the ooze. Avi has nightmare of black ooze washing over landscape and twisting everything. She see beautiful and terifying female. Bloodbitch?

Ariving at Oakton, Ooze covers everything, land blighted.

On south edge we can see rats and minotars on the walls. Commander with Cloak barking orders. Lots of mystic threads warping the ether.

Plan is to send Loudmouth Priest in gate, then 15-30 seconds we break from forest, Gront shatters wall and we pour in to fight (Scales, Gront, Gilreth, Krassis). Others Will then come in from the south to find both information, survivors, and people of interest.

Arti blesses us four with boost to our magic and fighting skills. Says some sort of flowery prayer. Why these people gotta be so long winded? Gilreth and Gront cast armor. Lots of pretty sparklies.

Gront drops Arti in mud puddle to complete disguise. Looks much more authentic.

Arti stumbles into town and sets of his light bomb. Angels sing, heavenly chorus, light from the sky, all that crap.

Gront blows a hole in the wall and several of the buildings, sends the others in to cause chaos

Gilrath one shots the Minotar with a massive bolt. Give him a cookie.

Scales charges in and levels the second Mino with a spear from 30 feet away. Give him a meat cookie.

Gront comes in and lays the gargoyal out with a single bolt. group turns and charges into fray with giant minotar, two corupted drakes, and a couple of necrodruids. Scales cuts into everyones fun by taking out one of the drakes before anyone else can play with it. Selfish Lizard.

Also kills second lizards before anyone can play with it. Need to teach Lizard to share.

gront busts in door of holding building to find most of the villages in norther end of town, and bunch of rats. Gront scares the piss out of them by killing the guarding Minotaur with a single bolt.

Chaos happens. Not sure how southern team faired, but we pulled a LOT of people to our distraction, so I cant think they had much to do.

Gibbon aparently not thinking we tough enough, send us reinforcements.

Bob, Craqyon, and sven join the distraction and assault to the north, Rorkalen sent south to assist in the extraction.

Bunch of Kalinar empire warriors, another minotar, and the human leader enter the fray.

Gilreth damages the existing minotaur, blows apart a second one, and annoys the the leader

gront squares off against the ratkin, cock blocking one of the attackers with his iron codpiece, then devistating them with icebolts. Gront then directs the survivors to flee the town. Note to self, Consider either removing dagger, or decorate it.

Arti flattens the remaining minotaur by screaming at it. Did I meantion he a LOUDMOUTH?

New Orc rallies the troops.

Gront takes out the leader after he’s been battered a bit

Mission:
Escort Valkeel to scout the road north out of Jasara for any signs of remaining corruption.

Valkeel’s Report:
Well Oakden is safe and a major blow has been struck against the Necromancers causing a lot of the trouble in the area. I’ve been working with the local druids to further understand the corruption in the area. It has become clear that the evershade forest has been forever changed by these events. I have received orders from Krythos to stay on here and continue my studies. I beleive they feel I have become something of a subject matter expert.
Most of the reinforcements HQ sent us have left and are heading home. A couple of dwarves arrived today to further assist in our efforts. Gibben has asked for me and Gront to lead them out along the trade road north to look for any lingering signs of the corruption. Things have been getting back to normal as life is begining to come back to the area. Artivan decided to join us for one last hurah before returnign home himself. Though the old man looks to have seen better days I am comforted in having him with us. I have spent several hours these last few days discussing this corruption and it is clear it may have originated here, but it was caused by a force not of our world. The Blood Queen, whoever she is is obviously behind this, but to what extent and how she was able to pierce the veil is still a mystery.
On the road north we saw only small amounts of the corrupted threads in our aura sight. And those were all retreating north away from the main settlements. The road was an easy journey and I spent most of my time studying the local plantlife and trying to not trip over my robes.
Evening was coming as we pulled into the Darrow Inn along the road. A nice place, I’ve heard and the owner Calahan and his wife Cecilia made us feel very welcome. It was not until later that we would discover why everything appeared to be so normal in the area. Artivan immediatly went for a bath and I visited the stables. Ive found that animals are the first to since any issues and they all appeared to be calm and steady. A traveling merchant from the Malakar named Antony was also staying the night. Calahan also mentioined a group of Olaran’s had stopped by, but had allready retired for the evening. As we looked around however, the hands working around the Inn became aggitated and tried to get us back inside for dinner. The Dwarves were almost pulled to the well, where we were told it to be one of the finest springs in the area. While we couldnt place what was wrong something just didnt fit.
Gront and I saw it nearly at the same time, but we were to late to warn anyone. A dampening field of “way” energy surounded part of the inn. As we saw it, the well exploded with this form of muscle standing nearly 12 feet tall rising from it. It extended tendril like muscles from its hands engulfing Gront and Crabius. I was so shocked by what I had seen I barely registered the sound of Artivan in teh bathhouse screaming for something to get away from him.
I had seen to many of these strange creatures in the last few weeks and I was damned sure not going to let another stand here and harm this area. I stepped up and laid several arcane jets into the creature. This proved a little over zealous looking back on it. I’ll need to spend some time helping Calahan rebuild his wall and replacing some of the families personal belongings. I’ll of course pay for the damages.
Stricking through the wall turned out to be a good thing however as we uncovered several Malakar agents hiding inside. One even tried to take control of Gront’s mind and to my gratitude he was able to slip from her control. Gront can be rather scary when he isnt playing at being dumb.
Crabius used a rather unique ability to borrow out of the entangled mess of tendrals he was in causing the creature to fall over. As it fell Luna took to the sky and shot it in the center of the chest. The wood from her arrows appeared to cause it a great deal of pain so I followed up with my new staff. With a single stike i was able to stop the beast from ever getting back up. Though the well may need to be cleansed before anyone touches that water again.
As more Malakar agents came out of rooms in the Inn, they struck down Antony and then engaged the dwarves. It wasnt long before the way was clear and we were able to assist Artivan. Which proved fruitless as he exited the bathhouse with nothing but his shield and mace. Dorin followed behind him with pants in hand. For an old guy he’s pretty fit, for a human of course.
As luna flew down to join the rest of us inside to finish the fight she saw a large flock of bats flying towards the Inn. Looking back on this I am still confused as to why these bats were coming here. I have never heard of such a power to summon something so specific. It is something I will research more.
As we entered the Inn we found a necromancer chanting some form of magic and the adept who tried to control Gront before. I was able to quickly get an are of silence up around the necromancer who had just engulfed himself in darkness. From out of the darkness came a women who was dressed and appeared very similar to the vampire we had fought a few days ago near fallencourt. At seeing me she became enraged and raised her weapons. Another of those metal tubes and sword unlike any i have ever seen. She pulled a lever on the bottom of the tube similar to that of a crossbow and the tube exploded in front of us. The explosion must not have been how it was supposed to react as she went flying backwards as the impact knocked her sword away from her. About this time the bats Luna had seen swarmed into the room making it extremly difficult to see. As we all recovered from the shock of what we had seen the vampire recovered and bolted for the door. Luna was waiting for a shot from outside the other door and she took it. It never fails to amaze me how precise and dangerous avekar can be with a bow. One shot and the vampire errupted into a shower of ash. The bats seemed to scatter adn fly away at this. Though one did stop to squeak at Luna before flying away.
Gront has entered the inn from the hole I had blasted earlier and found the adept trying to run. He stopped her in her tracks by hanging her from the wall by the throat. The other Malakar who were still alive surrendered and were more than happy to share the story of what had happened. It appears most of them were under some form of control by the vampire. We learned that the vampire and the muscle beast appeared though a small portal of some form deep in the evershade forest. The Malakar agents were more than happy to provide a map. They were escorting her back to the dominion and had promised great amounts of power if she worked with them. They had only stopped in here to let her rest as the sun seemed to harm her.
While helping to clean up the mess that was made, we found an item known as a “cloakstone” in the well. It appears to have been the source of the “normal” feeling. It masks all magical energies in a rather large area. I will hand this over to Gibben on our return so he and the rest of command can figure out what to do with it.

Mission:
Sent scouting in Fallencourt to respond to corrupted beasts in the area.

Valkeel’s Report:
I think my shoulder is finally feeling normal again after the Dark Iron arrow. I’ve been trying to take it easy and rest the last few days, but its been difficult with Gibben shouting orders all the time. We are nearly packed up. Only a week or so more and we should be able to move into our new home.
Scales is back from another of his walkabouts and ready for some action. A rather large group of rangers arrived this morning and he seems to be spending a great deal of time sizing them up and getting into good graces with Gibben to get another chance at command. It seemed to work too. Around lunch Gibben called us all together to send us out. Reports from Fallencourt south of Jasara have come in about wild beasts attacking the village. We left the next morning but not before Scales spent some time training the new comers on how to clean their weapons off after striking one of the corrupted. I have to say i’m getting impressed with his performance as a commander. I would suggest command take note and promote him quickly.
We headed out in the morning and found out first day of travel uneventful. Camp that night was fitful and full of the same dreams. It seems the further into the wild we go the easier it is for the Blood Queen to reach into our hearts and minds. Scales rallied the troops rather well and got them back on track quickly. As we approached a thined out area of the forests near Fallencourt we were attacked by several corrupted wild animals. Bears, boars and more of the giant eagles which i had encountered before. There was a small sacrifical alter not far from where we were attacked. I have to admit my curiosity got the better of me and I went for it. Ignoring my fellow rangers, though they had things well in hand.
Taking a few moments to study the alter I found the same strange threads in my aura sight. This time they flowed ina stream towards a cave not far away. This was growing strange and knwoing the party had these beasts in hand I made my way closer to the cave. One of the bears tried to stop me but I was easily able to avoid it while other members of the team took its attention. Scales even called on the Silver unicorn at one point to rally everyone to him. His weapon was instantly transformed into white silver. It amazes me to see sucha display, but I had to stay focused on the cave and what we would find.
By the time I was able to make it to the cave the rest of the group was finishing up with the beasts. We organized ourselves and went in. I wasnt sure what to expect but I wasnt really expecting what felt like a near horde of skeletons and necromancers. Most all of them in Malakar Dominion dress and surprised we had found them. On the far side of the cave was a large chasm filled with a smoke like version of the black ooze. How far down the chasm went we could not tell.
It didnt take long for us to dispatch the skeletons and their masters, so we made out way to the back of the cave. As we turned the corner we ran right into two more of those leechman guarding the entrace to a back room. Trogash made quick work of them and Bogden charged in. The back room was filled with strange machinery that looked very much like builder technology. A man with extremely pale skin seemed to be operating the machine which appeared to be accelerating the corruption in this area. He was dressed very strangly with a long coat and a strange metal tube like weapon at his side.
As Bogden charged into the room he grabed two broken crossbow bolts from a dead Malakar agent and proceeded to stab both the operator and the last necro killing them both in rapid succession. The operator must have been a vampire of some form since he collapsed in a pile of dust when struck. Though he did not look liek any I had ever heard of. Bogden took the tube weapon back to HQ for further investigation.
As the vampire fell, an image of a silver unicorn rose from the fog and banished it. The area seemed to cleanse itself after that return to normal afterwards.

Mission:
Sent scouting in Galembere.

Valkeel’s Report:
Since returning from the encounter with the leechmen, Gibben has given few a few days to rest. I needed it. Another small group of new recruits arrived this morning, including a couple orc trainees. I have been asked to assist Guriel in leading the group on a scouting run of Galembere.
As we set off i began speaking with one of the trainee’s. An orc priest of light named Grunk about the recent events and disturbances around the area. As we were talking we both detected strands of the red/black threads in our aura sight. Its is frightneing to think that more of those pinhole breaches have opened and what may have come through them. Its only been a few days and to think so much has allready changed. The forest is so quite that it even feels the wind has been scared away by what is coming. The dark dreams appeared again as we camped for the night and made for an exhausting night.
As we entered an area of marsh not far from the river we came upon more corrupted creatures. A bear and several boars. They were dealt with rather quickly, but they kept us distracted long enough for several shayakar agents to ambush us. The leader threw a large black clay like orb into one of the pools of standing water nearby. It immediatly began to bubble in the water and soft earth, showing signs of dark power and alchemical solutions. From the pool rose a large clay golem like creature. Another trapped life spirit corrupted by this dark power that is infecting our world. This time it was different. The Golem seemed to be fighting for control and on several occasions could have easily moved out of the way of our attacks. It almost seemed to move into them, wanting to be set free from this life. At first I thought we may find a way to save these spirits but its beginning to look like death is the only escape.
As expected the shayakar came for me as quickly as they could. I’m thankful only one of their black iron arrows hit me. I have never fealt so much pain before, but I persivered and was able to blast the golem several times with my arcane jet. Though I surprised them in my curses in thier native language. Guriel commanded the fight rather well and performed admirable in nearly cutting the golem in several pieces.
The Goblinesh traveling with us made short work of the Shayakar once they could engage and we won out the day in the end. Not before the Shaykar each were able to let out their death whispers. I’m sure whatever was said will come back on us before long. Upon searching the body of the Shayakar leader Guriel found a letter and a map. In the letter is stated:
“While searching for their necromancers, and in service of the blood queen we shall claim the evershades for our own. Try the enclosed device when you have a chance and report back your findings.”
Once we were on the road again we came across a desecrate druid circle. In the middle were the bodies of several farmers who had been sacrificed to whatever dark ritual was performed. Written in blood not far away was " Blood for the Blood Queen". It took some time but we gathered to bodies and built a funeral pyre before heading back to base to report.

Mission: Sent to scout the areas upriver from Jasara for any signs of trouble moving closer to the city.

Valkeel’s Report: Its been a couple weeks since we received the report that Oakden had fallen to the Kal-A-Nar empire. Were not sure what happened but ever since then the area has been absolute chaos. More and more fo the corrupted beasts are appearing every day. The Kingdom of Jasara has been sending out troops to reinforce the defenses of the other villages. Scouts have been flying over head almost constantly. The Rangers have been going out on small scouting missions and doing what we do best. Putting out fire after fire and confronting this threat head on. We still dont knwo whats happening, but HQ has started sending reinforcements. I’ve never seen a goblin more excited to have the respect of command before. Gibben has been taking it rather well, but is starting to wear out. He has been running nearly non stop. We all have. Onlya few hours of sleep a day and then back out into the field. It doesnt help that the Druids have not made our new home available to us yet. We are in a constant state of packing and loading. I have heard our new home will be just north of Brire in an old Inn complex that has been unused since the war.
With a new batch of rangers sent from HQ Gibben has sent me out with Scales in command to scout the area upriver from Brire. There have been scattered reports of black ooze and agressive wildlife. I’m not happy about following scales. He has not yet proven himself to me and for some reason he does not trust me. Though I did overhear him telling someone that he saw me as a slave. I wonder if he may have observed the Prelacy bastards who had me captured years ago. A human priest name Ardivan joined us from the south. We shall see what his role in all this turns out to be.
As we traveled north along the river we encountered a group of corrupted boars, bears, and giant eagles. They had mutated from the reports I had first read. These were covered in Bony protrusions and the black ooze seemed to drip from open soars all over their body. It was an unnatural site to behold, but nothing like what charged out of the forest shortly after the fight began. A tree nearly 12 feet tall walked out of the forest and began smashing us. The black ooze dripped from it like sap and when it was injured, there appeared to be viens and flesh beneath the bark. Something this alien to our world took me by complete surprise. The group worked together well stopping these creatures. We found that if we slicked our weapons after hitting the infected creatures we coudl avoid any contact with the ooze. It has proven very painful on contact and too much has even shown signs of corruption on the flesh.
After the fight we found that inside the tree was a trapped life spririt. My only conclusion is that the spirit would have had to be summomed, the trapped and corrupted by the ooze. This is something I will report back to the druids on and I can assure you they will not be happy.
As we continued on into the evening I was able to locate a safe place to camp for the group. It is obvious most of these rangers have not had to spend much time outdoors. While I may not enjoy it I have to thank my father for our many trips in my childhood. While the campsite may have been safe our dreams prevented any good rest. It seemed most of us shared a rather fitful dream showing tendrils of black ooze reaching and grasping at us. An image of a woman with pale skin, red lips and black hair echoed in our visions. We hated and loved her. Later, Artivan would identify her as the Blood Queen. An agent who is trying to amass power in Shaintar. However no one knows where she comes from. Scales roused our spirits the next morning and to my surprised proved to be a rather capable leader.
The next day we came upon a small tributary of the river and found it guarded by large group of skeletons. Once we engaged them we found their masters not far away. Three necromancers controlled the Skeletons while a forth was casting some ritual in a small druid circle nearby. Floating in the center of the circle was a bubble of black ooze that seemed to shift and move as though something was trying to escape.
The Skeletons did most of our work for us as they tried to cross the river the current prooved to powerful for them and most were washed downstream. Scales jumped in the river to engage the Necros as quickly as possible and proved that he can be a powerful warrior and tactician. As we closed the fight on the Necromancers, I was able to interrupt the ritual with an area of silence. With the ritual interrupted I expected the ooze to disipate, instead it moved and split into two humanoid liek forms. They were devoid of a skeletal structure and seemed to move with a fluid like grace. On their heads was a giant mouth unlike any i had ever seen, filled with sucker and teeth like appendages. Artivan engaged the lead necro and dealt a damagerous blow. Merit amzed us all by sliding between the two ooze creatures and killed them both with a single well placed blow. As the Necro leader went to flee Rork shot her with his crossbow and I finished her off with my arcane bolt.
As we finished the fight we found two men watching the fight. They appeared to be agents of the Malakar Dominion. It is not uncommon to see them as traders in the area and we were honestly to tired to pursue them. They greeted us and made mention of taking a wrong turn. I’m sure we will meet up with them again.
As we investigated the area of the ritual, Artivan and I were able to see a tiny pinhole in reality with our aura sight. From it eminated tiny threads of red black energy. This must be where those things came through. I will call them leechmen for now until we know womething better to call them.
On returning to Jasara I notified the druids of the area and asked for them to go at once and perform a clensing on the area.

We were sent to check the area for any possible corrupted creatures. Things had been relatively quiet however Zerenelia, Bodgan, and Asgar were our forward scouts. Could honestly see both the brenchie and the avakar. After a few hours of following on the ground we heard the screeching of Buzzards. I caught sight and could see the black ooze falling from them. They seemed to be flying fast for Zerenelia. I loosed a few arrows and managed to get the attention of one of the creatures. Just after my shot there was a roar like a bear. I barely saw the creature in time to call out to Bodgan. He managed to get out of the way as the Asgar and he tag teamed the bear and Sarcastic Scales came in to stab into the creature quickly. Without Scales help the two new recruits were able to survive the sudden bear attack. With the help of Magdala and Valkeel we kept the buzzards off Zerenelia. Unfortunately we didn’t see the second bear or the Boars bearing down on us. To our luck Ingar Goldtooth caught the second bear with the help of Trogash. I was amazed at the strength that Behemoth had. As the dust settled though Valkeel was no where to be seen. We spotted him running following what he screamed was a red thread. As we plowed through the foliage we came upon a Cave entrance. Valkeel did at least have the presence of mind to stop and wait at the entrance. After taking a moment for various blessings to our warriors. We once again sent in Bodgan and Asgar to the for front. And once again both were spotted. Myself and Korrindian came in behind them. With Arrows firing we managed to take out three of the assassins that were harassing Bodgan. The little Goblin then took off without any thought and rushed up a set of stairs through a horde of skeltons. As we noticed a group of “Damned Ones” we fought through them and eventually got past the necromancers. As we rounded the corner we saw that there were two individuals working over what seemed to be an electric contraption that was spewing forth the black ooze. With a scream of rage Bodgan leaped forward and in three swift strokes he killed the Woman standing there and a Vampire in odd garb. I was amazed the rage and efficiency that Bodgan was able to take both out. As the strange machine wound down there was an explosion and a White silvery mist in the shape of a Unicorn appeared. I have felt stronger since then.

Abandoned by Scott, the party continues on to Catsville on it’s goodwill tour

After Action Report:
Boss,

I know things are a mess right now, so I’ll keep this short.

Party moved on from Settlers Crick towards Catsville after talking with the leader in Settlers about what to expect.

Received the new recruits of the Diseased Human archer, the kitten, and Clank. Did you have to send Clank? He’s gonna be such a pain, though he does seem to have improved from our time in the north. He’s not quite as annoying now as he use to be. Only had to hit him once to shut him up.

Encountered several caravans and travelers on the road from Catsville. Warned that there had been reports of attacks by deformed animals. Likely more evidence of the Black Ooze.

Once in Catsville, met the leader Anisomethingorother. Aparently the town has a high population of Cats who are followers of Kor, though they dont have the traditional hate for Metal that most Korites have. Guriel also seems to have spent some time here.

Found out from the Ugly Lizard that he witnessed Valkeel as a prisoner of the Prylosy break free. Ugly doesnt trust him becuase he was a slave who showed skill in Magic, and he thinks that is suspiscious. Not sure I agree since I cast my first icebolt when I was 4 without anyone teaching me how.

Planned to stay the night in Catsville but was disturbed before beddown by the village alarm. Heading outside we found numberous Ratkin swarming the village and robbing the houses. Additionally we had to deal with a Minotar, yet Another Death Druid, and 9 recently raised skeletons. Wasn’t much of a fight. Few injuries on our part, though the Pretty Lizard and Clank dove into the mess of critters. PL Got banged up, but the Diseased Archer was able to heal him up afterwards. Clank ran maddly around the battlefield looking for enemies with little success. Might want to look into finding him a smaller helm so he can see better.

Next morning your messanger recalled us to the home base in Core, telling us about the fall of Oakton.

And yes, I’ll move the bed myself. Probably best.

After Action Report:
Boss,

First off, my appologies for letting the group get captured. Inexcusable. Feel free to dock me a months pay. Oh, wait, we dont get paid. Nevermind.

Anyways, the following is the report of our walkabout with Ranger Scott, picking up from last report.

moveed on from Core to Oakton after trading out druids. Made sure current druid actually knows how to heal. This druid seems skilled in healing and was respondable for many of the group being able to continue fighing after being seriously wounded. Consider giving this one a shiny medal. Of wood. She might take offense to a medal of Metal. Silly Druids.

Gathered reports of stragler groups of childer raiding parties while in on road to Oakton.

Arive in oakton and meet up with Mary the healer and Walter the logger. Palasade is 90% done.

Oakton has lost one wagon of supplies to Core. Changing caravans to double up size and triple security.

Mary reports most injuries are work related right now. No sign of black goo or marauding animals. Suspect people just aren’t looking for the right things.

Moving on from Oakton, camped on the road. Forest acting wierd. Woke up wraped in vines. Vines had also wrapped Avi and were dragging her slowly into the forest. Suspect Druids again.

Moving further on we find remains of burned druids circle with two charred bodies and black good everywhere

avi finds tracks of more than a dozen figures headed north.

Hobgoblins tumble out of growth, about 10. 5 more with caster step out of woods and caster summons 9 skeletons.

Caster announces that we are not the people he was looking for but house Dolinar will pay well for the heads of Rangers.

Fight is painful. Avi almost falls and is healed by gront. pretty lizard almost falls and is revived by druid. Luna gets knocked from sky and spends some time on the ground.

Pretty lizard needs training on which end of the weapon to hold. Spent a major part of the fight sparring with one of the hobgoblins.

At this point, one of the caster made Gront fall down and go to sleep. Not sure what happened.
wake up tied and bound surrounded by a lot less figures. hobgoblins and humans seemed to have gone elsewhere.

rescue attempt by pair of humans. Starts slow. Gront’s speech impedement shows up due to being knocked loopy. Hoping nobody noticed.

Scott leaps on top of death druid to distract him. assisted by one of new humans.

Forced to drive Sarcastic Scales off the leader of the Druids before he kills him. Potential source of information. Think we may need to increase the amount of food we feed to the lizards.

Discovered we have been gone for a full week. Aparently we have been moved to a new location in our absence.

Interogating the druid, he was hired to complete a transaction. Death Druids were sent to learn about the local druids growth ability, and figure out how to corrupt it. He is a member of the Malicar Dominion. sent to retreive the druids and thier information. This circle is evidence of the Dark Druids work, but they have not yet found and retreived them. This is second circle, first one possible coincides with the dead faeries.

Sending Luna to alert Oakton and we will head on to Rocheburg. Leaving Pretty Lizard Zenigal and Guriel to shadow and watch the forces. Will send our captive down river to Jasara.

Rocheburg is a clay and pottery center with small farming community outside. Met by human Richard Hind who is the local foreman. we set the wounded to bedrest and healing.

Scouts see group of hobgoblins and humans bringing in parts to build a wagon from the north. Loot the bodies and head back north. Guriel and Zenigal attempt to shadow. Guriel report the lizard lacks any talent for stealth.

Back in town the children engaged in a game of bondage hide and seak. Sarcastic Scales kidnaps the new human and runs away from the group while others try to track. Need to find more to occupy them durring downtime.

Rocheburg has fence and watch towers for defence. it has been mostly quiet. wild animal attacks, mostly wolves. no sign of black ooze in wounded.

Note to Command Staff: Letting the children grow restless is a bad idea. Expect to receive reports of bad behavior from Rocheburg.

Downriver from town is another druid circle in same desecrated conditon. Old. Ooze is mostly dried. At least 1-2 weeks old.

Make it to settlers crick (farming and trade community) Meet Sam Rothy Green, leader of the trade community. Reports sightings of undead in area in last few days after sunset. Keeping defences close but able to defend town. Party decides to investigate. Find a couple cemetaries in direction undead come from. Looks like someone has set up a ritual site to summon the undead.

Set up watch to observe cemetary. Several hours after dark figure appears out of woods and heads to altar. Party tries to interupt before he can cast, Sarcastic Scales smashs makeshift altar. Group effort seriously wounds the figure. Manages at last moment to get a spell off and summon 10 skel and zombies.

Valikar, one of new humans sees this and says, I quote, “Um, Oh. Eep!” Question for command staff, Why you send us a fop?

Fop does make useful distraction. ABle to clean up undead after Death Druid falls.

Follow up from town. City council had withdrawn funding and financial support. Gibbon is aranging for druid council to take up slack and provide us with new base. Note to Command Staff: Do not touch my bed! First and only warning! This is for your safety.
