After Action Report:
From the desk of Gibben Draxx
I received a report this last week from Scott and the team. They have been gone longer than expected. The news is rather grim and I will let Scott’s report speak for itself.
-———————————————-
Ranger at Large Scott Oliver Reporting:
I have been tasked with taking this new group of rangers around the Kingdom. To introduce them to the leaders of the local communities and to scout the areas for any signs of issues. I wish I could say its been uneventful. As I write this we are resting in Rocheburg. We will be heading by river to Settlers Crick in a few days. Here is a log of our encounters and a review of how each ranger has performed.
- Leg 1 – Jasara to Galembere to Core –
The group performed as any rangers are expected. Courteous, respectful, and helpful when they could. In Galembere I introduced the group to “Kal’ryn”. A Dregordian with a very courteous and helpful attitude. Don’t let him fool you, he is a shrewd businessman. He has negotiated some of the most exclusive trade deals for Jasara. Kal’ryn reported nothing dangerous in town recently. Only the usual seasonal traders coming in from the west with new spices and silks.
We didnt stay in town for more than a few hours before heading out on the main road north to Core. When we stopped for dinner along the river bank we were ambushed by a large patrol of Childer and Kal-inash forces. The group held there own rather well and in the end though not without some serious wounds. Avi and Luna took the worst of it but returned to the fight after some tending from the Druid. It amazes me the power of the Dregordians as they took on a minotaur and won sending his body floating downstream. Guriel was as reckless as ever, leaping head first into a swarm of ratzin. While I dont always agree with the cubs tactics, he gets results. Gront has proven to be an accomplished sorcery and commander, if not directly at least in example.
Once we cleaned up the mess of the assault we were on our way to Core where we rested for a few extra days and waited for our wounded to recover. The town leader “Rothon” provided for our wounded and reported sightings of a large group of Kap forces headed south. We can only assume it was the group we encountered.
- Leg 2 – Core to Oakden to Rocheburg –
The trip from Core to Oakden was uneventful. We passed only a few wagons and no logging groups. Upon arrival we met up with David and he reported some issues with childer raising caravans heading to and from core. Only a few trips are being sent for the time being with extra security. The childer seem to be raiding for supplies more than slaughter. It is something I will have to look into closer once I am done with this assignment.
The road from Oakden to Rocheburg is rarely used and the forest pushes hard to take it back. We rode single file and at times had to cut our way through undergrowth trying to retake the road. I can normally make this trip in a day, but with this group we needed two. On our night at camp we had several scavengers checking us out and a creeping vine tried to drag Avi into the forest, but otherwise it was quite.
A few hours into our second day we came across a Druid Circle that had been defiled. The ground was burnt, black ooze dripped from the branches almost like rain drops after a storm. In the center of the circle were two bodies charred beyond recognition. As the group began to investigate closer we were ambushed by a group of hobgoblins, lead by an Adept and a Necromancer. While these rangers are strong they lack organization. They scatter when a fight begins instead of working together. This fight proved they needed more training. It didnt take long for the Hobgoblins to team up on single rangers and cause some serious wounds. Avi again has shown that she can take a beating, of course she should never need to with that bow of hers.
I’m not sure how or why but shortly into the fight the Necromancer summoned additional forces. While they seemed set on hurting us they didnt appear to want us dead. Those who did not fall to our wounds seemed to just lay down and sleep. All I know is I woke with a splitting headache.
I’m not exactly sure how we all got loose or what started the escape. All I know is i was tired to a large rock and then I was free. I saw my chance and tackled the Adept, doing my best to restrain and capture him. I wanted answers. Afterwards I was able to learn that Gibben sent Willam to look for us along with a new recruit. A sorcerer named Valkeel. They were able to help us escape and capture the Adept. We learned the Necro and a group of hobgoblins went to secure a wagon, they didnt want to carry us back home but they did want us alive. Turns out they were sent by House Dolinar of the Malakar Dominion to find a group of Kal Necromancers working in the area. Apparently the Necros were sent to discover a way to corrupt the druids power and stop the regrowth of the forest. They are hoping to stop the regrowth of the blasted lands and hurt the power base of the druids where they can. This group of necros decided to sell the secrets they discovered to the Dominion and had failed to deliver. We seem to have simply been a bonus for them.
Arriving in Rocheburg Richard provided us a house to stay in and has been very accommodating. We have spent the week recovering and tending to our wounded. The group has been letting off steam and getting to know the locals. I am concerned with the appearance of not only the Kal Necros but also the Dominions involvement. If they are able to gain these secrets it could shift the power of Jasara away from the people and Druids to that of the Trade houses. That opens the doors to all sort of dangerous groups. I will update my reports once we return to Jasara. We only have a few more stops before we will be headed home.

Ow. Ow ow ow. Head hurt. Tummy empty. Gront not happy.

Ok, We traded one druid for another after ariving in Core. Old druid sent back to report to Loud Goblin Commander. Loudmouth not gonna be happy we didn’t return from mission. Hope he dont give away Gront’s bed before Gront can get home. Just got the straw feeling right….

Right. Mission. Move on to Oakton from Core after making certain new druid was better healer than old druid. Seemed more talented.

Reports from the road are of stragler groups of Childer raiding parties. Small groups, some soldiers, no big troops like Minotaurs. Seems quiet. Too Quiet.

Arive in oakton and meet up with Mary the healer and Walter the logger. Palasade is 90% done. Reports of one wagon lost on route to Core due to raiders. Oakton changed schedules in response. Caravans now twice their original size, with three times as many guards. Mary says no current signs of black goo or marauding animals. Most injuries around camp are work related. Must be nice. Cant remember last time Gront had “Work Related Injury” like dropping tree on foot or hitting self in the face with axe. Might be nice change of pace. Back on the road, slept in four shifts. Woke up next morning wrapped in vines, and Avi had been dragged closer to the forest. Really not liking these Druids. Death Druids or Otherwise, plants should not hug Gront. This where things seemed to go bad to start. Always Druids. More trouble than they worth. Further down road, found diverging path. Remains of burned Druid circle with two charred bodies and black goo everywhere. Signs of over a dozen individuals having moved in and out of circle, headed north. Again, Druids clearly the problem. Never trust Druids. Attacked from all sides. Ten or so Hobgoblins, 5 Druids. One of druids summons up skeletons from the druid circle. More proof Druids are Bad News. When get back to town, suggest renegotiating deal with Druids. Gray Rangers not getting paid enough to put up with this. Need good feast at least once a month just to keep up strength. Havent had a good ox in months. Ooo, tummy empty. No think about Ox. Caster leader have big mouth. Announce that we not the Rangers he looking for but someone named House of Dolinar will pay well for our heads. Why people always want Head? Orc tell us to bring him Heads, then didnt want. Dolinar want our heads, probably just kick them into corner. Waste of good Head. Much easier to transport if you just take faces. Probably should not mention that to Death Druids. Fight…..goes poorly. Avi knocked down, helped back up with healing. Not So Ugly Lizard falls, also revived. Luna knocked from sky, brought back into fight. Not So Ugly Lizard need training on which end of stick to hold. Spent most of fight trading useless blows with Hobgoblin. Probably another reason fight go poorly. Mention to Not So Ugly that he needs to spread his time out among more attackers. And then Gront got really sleepy. Not sure what happened. Gront know it not right time for a nap. Skeletons make too much noise for naptime. Still, Gront work hard carrying battle. Probably why Gront get so sleepy. Gront rest now, sleep more. Deal with Death Druids when not so tired. Wish Gront had sammach. Ox Sammach, with radish and onion. Stinky Ox Sammach, ask Druids for one after nap….

Additional Information:
Note This is not so much an after action report as a running train of thought after the debacle that was our last mission. In an effort to figure out what went wrong, Gront has spent the last several hours running the events of the day over and over, so much so that even asleep he replays events.

From the desk of Gibben Draxx
Since my last report things have gotten bad. The team sent Korin back with a set of reports. Gront’s report as usual was difficult to understand, but using Scott olivers report I was able to piece together something. It appears the team encountered a large force of Kalanar Soilders and Childer on the Road to Core. With the retreat to the north I’m surprised to see a group this size. This is surely a sign of something much larger coming.
The Council voted this week and have agreed to remove all financial support for the Rangers in the Jasara at this time. They did not ask us to leave but made it clear that they would not be providing any resources. This is not going to make the group happy. Though I am hopeful we will be able to resolve the issue before they return.
En’ack has offered us a place in Brire where the Druids Council is stationed. It is just outside the city proper, but should keep us close enough to be useful. I am working on arranging the relocation over the next few days. The Council has given us till the end of the month to vacate our current residence inside the city.
I’m hopeful we can resolve this issue and have funding resume from Jasara. I think the move out of town will be good for everyone.
At the time i write this group should have made it into Rocheburg and be sending a report. So far I haven’t heard anything from them. If I havent heard anything in a day or so I’ll send Corporal Marian and Telchar to investigate.

After Action Report:
From the desk of Gibben Draxx
The team has returned from there break and investigations and found the following:
Gront – After getting in a few fights most things have been pretty good amongst the Goblinish in town. The usual minor confrontations with the city watch on what role they will all play, but the rangers have really helped to stabilize the local military forces. He did get a report of a group of life spirits (including sprits and faries) being found dead in a small circle east of Settler’s Crick.
Telchar and Balgor – I have left the dwarves to continue their investigations around town. They seem to be building up a good network of connections. They went looking into Georgio Brandus and his background. It seems he has served as a council aide for several years. In the last year he climbed the ranks rather quickly to serve beside Lady Falkinore. It wasnt until talk of bringing the rangers to Jasara that he began to raise his voice and be heard more. He is from the town of Hale in Olara. No real family in town at least and he never speaks about any back home.
Guriel and Illeria – The Thugs didnt have any more information but once Omar wakes up he tells the thugs who took him, were looking for information on the renewal ritual the Druids use in Jasara. There was also a rumor of Builders being seen in the city but no real proof to back it up.
Things have been heating up around Jasara lately and to be honest I’m having a hard time keeping the rangers in line with the local politics. It doesnt seem to matter how often I tell them, they just cant seem to lay low. So I’ve asked our local ranger at Large Scott Oliver to take the team out for a long range scouting mission around the Kingdom. Scott has been on assignment in this area for nearly 10 years and has made a lot of good contacts. He even raised one of our current rangers, Guriel.
As to what the team encounters while on this patrol I’ll let there reports speak to. For me I’m spending a large amount of time doing damage control and trying to strengthen our position here.
In my last report I mentioned we have found signs of Malakar dominion activity, and possible even the Red Store. Well we have been seeing more and more activity lately. Trade wagons arrive daily from cities to the west and many are not even trying to hide who and what they are. There have been a serious increase in “floater” activity within the city as well and Several smaller merchants are beginning to feel the pressure of larger more wealthy houses moving in.
The Council will be voting in the next few days whether to continue to support the Rangers in the same capacity. I am pushing hard for us to remain here but this new Council member has all but turned the council against us. It is going to take some major victory for us to stay here. In the mean time, I am working closely with En’ack Galkan to secure a new base of operations. The Druids Council has committed to supporting the Rangers but without the Kingdoms resources it will be difficult. I will report in a few days once we have more news, and will continue to forward on the reports from my team in the field.

Mission Assignment:
Escort Scott, adopted father of Guriel, to several towns and cities around the area to meet and make contacts.

After Action Report:
Boss,

Report of first leg of Scott Escort Duty and thoughts

Party consists of

Avi, 3/4 elf thief
Grontmomble
Sarcastic scales, ugly lizard warrior
Luna, Avicar archer
Gariel, cat warrior
Another metal hating Druid
Not-So-Ugly-Lizard (Sarcastic Scale’s Prettier Brother?)

Thoughts and discoveries between reports:
- Turns out Omar was being questioned about rebirth ritual, specifically who knows it where they can be found

- Gront hear rumors about sighting east of Settlers Crick of fairies and sprites (life spirits). Half dozen found dead in a circle. Avi is obsessed with them. Probably one who killed them and trying to cover it up. That or really is just as crazy as I think. Or both.

New human, old member of rangers, stationed with Team will be taking us around to outlying settlements. Is also Gabriel’s adoptive dad. Named Scott. Grumpy cuss. I like him.

Also rumors of group of Builders in the area. Note to Command: Why you always give us metal hating druids when there are reports of Builders in the area?

Taking major trade route to Galenbere

Scott regales us with story of infected wolves (black goo) feeding on corpse and spreading goo to others who fed on same corpse. Note to self: Watch what you eat.

Introduces us to male korindian Kalryn as contact in town. Well decked out. Has been having malicar traders coming in. More than normal. Lot of exotic spices but nothing illicit they have found. This individual supports the rangers.

Reports of prylosee working with builders and being issued arc tech and training to maintain the gear. This is very bad. If Builders are giving Arctech to Prylosee shocktroops, that means is likely what they see as minor tech. What Majortech do Builders still have that we will have to deal with?

Catsville and timberhearth are reported as isolated and backwoods. Suspicious of outsiders. Careful when visiting.

Next stop is Core. Logging transport location that processes logs from oakton. Hear rumors of attacks north of Core from other caravans. Attackers are Childer.

On road attacked in triad position, Minotar, armored figures, and Ratkin. Sarcastic scales attacks Minotar as he rises from the river. Gariel loses it and leaps into center of rats.

Additional armored Kalinar soldiers and caster in plate and chain with sword and shield (war priest) apper with additonal pack or rats. Luna knocked from sky but new healer attends to wounds. Note to Command: This is why Healers are not optional equipment.

Second ugly lizard manages crippling crushing blow to Minotar. Whoever downriver is not going to enjoy their drinking water

Gront immobilizes most of one group of Kalinar soldiers temporarily.

Avi seriously injured by second group of warriors and limps back towards party. In anger, Gront levels the major bad guy with a series of bolts, the last knocking him back a full five feet. Two of the soldiers turn and start dragging the body away.

Druid attends to Avi. Another Note to Command: See, healers are still NOT optional equipment.

Lots of flailing and injuries on both sides. Gront mops up the rats with a slew of bolts. Lots of magical and non magical healing. Note to Command : please offer classes to Druids in non magic healing. Druid tried to cure pretty lizard by tearing open wound. Gront working too hard, need vacation. Have to kill most of our attackers, heal with what remaining energy he has, and THEN has to rebind healer’s work. Gront want a raise.

Finally arived in Core to hear reports of Corrupted, but nothing organized. Rumors of large group headed south, likely we took care of them. Tired. Taking Nap. Report more later.

-Gront
Additional Information:
As all previous reports, this report is a scrawling that drifts in and out of galean, Goblinesh, Kalinesh, and Childer, written backwards and upside down. The scrawling and puncuiated with crude sketches that depict events. Add to that Gront’s amazingly poor handwriting, and the report is all but illegible.)

12/15/13 Little Lost Druid

Submitted by BearMichaelStanley on Sun, 12/29/2013 – 03:28
Mission Assignment:
Go wandering out into the wilderness and locate the little lost druid. Preferably bring him back alive

After Action Report:
Quick Catchup: After last mission for ugly orc councilmember, group returned to big cluster of fucks in city with Arrogant Lady Councilmember being dead and Orc knocked out by someone showing Red Flash Ability. Been Informed this is some kind of Dead Nasty Magic spell that lets enemy tel-uh-port away from us. Have seen it used twice before. Annoying.

Long, Dry questioning by city guard. Guard not amused when I got bored and pegged him with slush-ball when his back was turned. Dont know how he can blame me. He wasn’t looking. Could have been some other Ice Crafting Ogre who wasn’t in the room. Guards have no sense of humor. Threatened with Finger Up Butt.

Returned to house after more than 1 day of questions. Guards would ask question, then few minutes later, ask same question in different way. As if asking in different way was going to get them different answer. Pointed this out after fourth time. Might want to tell officials that their guards have really bad memories and should be replaced with people who can remember things first time they are told. Stupid Guards.

Not only do they use stupid Guards, they use Druids who can aparently get lost in woods. Had to go out yet again, this time to find little lost druid. FOund Druid Omar being held by unpleasant dumb thugs who were trying to ask him questions. Thugs should know if they overdose people on Floaters, not going to get good answers. Ap-i-luh-cay-shun of floaters is a science, and should not be done by am-a-tures. You would think Bad Guys would know this.

Very short fight with Bag Guys. Three members of thugs seem to have been Death Druids (Not sure how this work.) Healer killed two of the druids (not Omar) and thug smacked third one too hard in back of head for being stupid. Other big Bag Guy grabbed necklace and vanished in red glow. Really not liking this Red Glow. Can we get Blue Glow to Counter it?

Got two thugs to give up and took them to druids (Omar’s druids, hopefully not on Floaters too. Not Death Druids as that would be stupid and something Guards might do as mistake. Stupid Guards.) Learned a whole lot of not much. Obvious Malakar Dom is behind this. Someone mentioned a Store painted Red being involved. Havent seen any red-painted stores in the city that seem sus-spish-ush.

Group going seperate ways to look for answers in city. I going to go to Goblin Town to buy drinks. Oh, and ask questions. Going to ask about Malikars, strange plant an animal life, and Store of Red. Hopefully Either I or others will find something that will tell us who needs smashing. Havent turned anyone into blocks of Ice in a while. Need to keep skills up. May need to start practicing on rats and flying rats in city soon.

On side note, to remind the Goblin, Healers Still Not Optional Equipment. If I am required to do backup healing after freezing things, will need por-tuh-bull source of essence. Can Essence even be bottled? What about things Imb….(scratch out) Umbr…..(scratchout) Things with healing magic stuck to it. They make those? Because having one or two of those to keep us on our feet would be nice.

Oh, and also want big, thick, shiny, mobile wall or building for battlefield. Arrows also getting annoying.

-Grontmomble

Additional Information:
(Note: As always, this report is a backwards and upsidedown drift of four different languages dotted with really awful stick-figure drawing that are often a better and more decipherable retelling of events. This time, there are a number of splotches on the page, where charchol snapped from too much pressure. It can easily be assumed there was some frustration in writing this report. There is also a stain on the lower left corner of the page that, upon further examination, appears to be spilled beer.)

12/15/13 Accused of Murder, Malakar Involvement

Submitted by Gibben_Draxx_RF on Thu, 12/19/2013 – 10:14

Mission Assignment:
Find and rescue the Kidnapped Druid Omar Alean. He was kidnapped about a mile outside of the city while gathering herbs.

After Action Report:
From the desk of Gibben Draxx. –
Its been a rough couple of weeks for my rangers. They were held for several days following the murder of Lady Falkinor. While no evidence was found of the Ranger involvement (as there is no involvement) this incident has stired a bit of mistrust for us in Jasara. The Council of Nine have appointed Lady Falkinor’s Replacement. An Olaran named Georgio Brandus. Ive been told he worked as an advisor to the late Lady Falkinor and has always spoken rather publicly against the rangers presence in Jasara. He is making things difficult and I fear we may need to relocate soon to ensure a stable relationship.
To my teams request I had requested an additional ranger with healing skills to join us. They sent me a vetted Priest of Light by the name of Willam Volkmann. The teams seemed to appreciate his presence and he will be going out on assignment once he has a chance to settle in.
A few days ago En’ack Galkan from the Druids Council visited, sharing his findings of the black sludge and asking us to help one of his lost druids, named Omar Alean. He was last seen a mile or so outside of town. I sent the team immediately to investigate. From the report this was a pretty easy task for them and hopefully has helped to strengthen our relationship with the Druids at least.
The team reported following a hastily hidden trail and finding Omar tied up and drugged with floaters. According to the En’ack floaters have yet to be a problem in Jasara. Omar was being help by a small group of mostly thugs and what were reported a druids. When the team confronted them, the druids tried to flee, and the thugs attacked. It was a pretty short fight really. Illeria was wanting to question the druids, but was a little over zelous in her power and killed two of them. The third was killed by on of the thugs before he could be questioned. The leader of the group wore traveling leathers and escaped in a flash of red light, even through a concentrated effort by the team to stop him. I’m told Guriel and Telchar did there best to take him down before he could escape.
Two thugs were taken into custody and escorted back to the Druids Enclave for further questioning. What little we learned is that they were hired to escort the leader here and not ask questions. They were paid well and hired in Umbar.
Between the Thugs and the floaters its obvious the Malakar Dominion is behind this. Possibly even the red store.
My team has each taken it upon themselves to further the investigation, Guriel and Ileria are with the Druids seeing what else they can learn. Telchar and Balgor are spending time in Dwarf town seeing what they can find on the new council member. I look forward to seeing what they discover.

Mission Assignment:
Investigate attacks on Kruu gather in Evershade Forest and return with the head of the beast.

After Action Report:
(Note this is a verbal report given to Gibbon, much to his dismay I am sure).

First of all I feel like I need to justify myself. When Lady Falkinor knocked on the door, I shut in her face. If we had just left it at that things might have turned out better for us all. But you had to insist
that we go on this mission. The rangers never listen to me and my instincts.

So anyways, Lady Falkinor introduces us to Councilman Kruu. He asked up to go help some people out, but he was really kind of mean so I didn’t want to help him. But it is a good idea to get the favor of the council so off we went into the forest to save his friends from the unknown.

We get to the town, after a couple of days of walking. This is the first time I am excited about any of this, because there is space to set a trap for big bad unknown. I love setting up traps. We set up a big bon fire in the middle of the town and dug pit traps around it hoping to make for an easy kill.

The first thing that hopped out (literally) was this giant toad thingy. It was really gross, but being that we are tougher we killed it really fast. Then things got bad. We ended up fighting a small army of humans and minotaurs and drakes. One of the minotaurs ended up getting me in the gut with his horn. Atleast this guy didn’t have the black goop all over him like that last group of creatures we fought. But if you have ever been gored by a minotaur you know how bad that hurts. The rest of the fight is all kind of fuzzy, cause i spent long enough stuck on this things horn.

But we end up winning, and Councilman Kruu had asked for the heads of the beast, so we cut the heads off of everything we killed and put them in a cart. I ended up riding back in the cart with the heads, as I didn’t feel so well after everything.

We get back into town and go to Lady Falkinors house with all of the heads, which at this point stunk terribly, as did I from laying in it. IT is not natural for an elf to willingly smell that bad.

We go up to knock on Lady Falkinors door, and no one answered. Again with the door thing, I’m
not touching doors anymore. Bad things happen when I touch doors. But I went ahead and opened the door. Lady Falkinor was lying dead on the floor with a surgical like cut on her neck, and
Councilman Kruu was knocked out. Speaking of which, does this mean we call them the council of eight now?

I forgot to mention, back during the battle, there was this black thing that shot up into the air and created half of the bad guys we were fighting. I guess it was the same thing because someone noticed it leaving Lady Falkinors house. My best guess is assassin crab people.

So, what do we take from all of this?

1. Assassin Crab People are going to kill us all.

2. Minotaurs hurt.

3. I’m never touching a door again.

4. Healers are NOT an option.

Additional Information:
as transcribed by local magistrate of Jasara for ( نقم) (****** Symbol is impossible to transcribe) also known as Sarcastic Scales

To leader Gibbon and all others who must know,

This is the first report I have ever felt compelled to write, since grontmomble seems to get all essence of events happening during our campaigns here in Jasara. Also up to that time there is nothing that has sent anxiety into me (besides the constant bickering of the council on action, grontmombles tree, since he never realizes how heavy that thing can really be when he puts it down, the ability of the dwarf to cleave things when in the right mood, and whatever that toad thing we encountered) But caution has found its way to me when something I thought I had left behind when I joined the Grey Rangers has appeared, and in an even more evil form: Drakes.

I come from land far away from Jasara, and so I have yet to truly see anything from my native homeland. However, our mission into the evershade forest has truly struck memories of hunting parties and rites of manhood that were interrupted by a most cunning of beasts; the drake. This creature was taught to me early, one that I should watch for, be cautious of, and to never overestimate when in battle with. They are cunning, large, powerful beasts that are only native to my lands from what I have known. But in the evershade forest, there was 2, but they do not match the ones I have known. These beasts had 6 legs, rather then the 4 I have known. They moved as more of a serpeant than a creature with legs, but were more powerful and swift then my memories or recollections will let me believe. While they were indeed drakes, it was the most pecuiliar of habits that truly made me fear; what they did when they attack. A normal drake will constantly move his eyes, looking around at the terrain so it may better seize the advantage when locked in hunting or combat. Even while biting or scratching, their eyes will always move. These drakes do not, their eyes stare directly into their opponents, robbing them of strength and putting in fear. I believe having looked into legends, that these have the ability to put a person to stone should one keep looking into the drakes eyes, red like fire, and making it difficult to move and battle. I want to pass on this knowledge, since these drakes are not native to these lands, but seem to be something we may encounter in the future. I will begin to train myself to be ready for these drakes again, I became a man when I went into the jungle of my home and returned with a drakes head. I plan on doing so now here, not to become a man, but a ranger of grey here in Jasara.

Signed,

11/10/13 Attacks on Kruu Gather

Submitted by Gibben_Draxx_RF on Mon, 11/11/2013 – 11:33
Mission Assignment:

Investigate attacks on Kruu gather in Evershade Forest and return with the head of the beast.
After Action Report:
After the last mission I was giving the group some time off to recover from their wounds, things have been slow around town and there is only so much buttering up we can do to the locals. Last week we were visited by Lady Falkinor of the Council and offered a chance to earn some more favor. Councilman Kruu, a rather disbelieving Orc joined her and asked for our help. His Gather, located about 2 days into the Evershade forest outside of Jasara has fallen under attack. He provided us the name of the Matriarch Kersh and gave us a signet pin that would Identify the rangers as being there on his behalf. Taking advantage of this opportunity I dispatched the team.
I will let the reports from the team talk to the events of the mission, but to say we are starting to see something entirely new coming from the Childer and the Kal Empire.
When the team returned I joined the team to deliver the head of the beast to Kruu. The City Guard directed us to Lady Falkinor’s residence. When we arrived we found the Lady dead by a very precise blade, and Kruu unconscious on the floor with a rather large head wound. The dwarves Telchar and balgor spotted a shadow running from a nearby window and along with Luna gave chase. After several minutes of chase through alley’s, buildings, streets the team lost their prey in a dead end alley. They reported a large flash of bright red just before they lost the suspect. This appears to be the same flash that the team saw from another shadowy figure at the Gather.
A further investigation by the City watch of the alley reported a trace amount of Thaumaturgy magic. This means we have Adepts and Necromancers in the City of Jasara we will need to deal with. We are waiting to meet the new council member and hope that they are as supportive of the Grey Rangers presence in Jasara as Lady Falkinor was.
As a follow up from a previous report. I was visited by En’ack Galkan a member of the Druids Council. He wanted to discuss if i had any luck figuring out what the black ooze was the party had found in previous missions. After we compared notes it appears the substance is a byproduct of mixing magical energies. More investigation will be required as the base energy appears to be Necromantic.
